Running a non stock commander II on my non-stock Harley 18" front wheel . I've got 4000 miles on it.... still looks brand new.

You have a tire installed not recommended for your bike and you're are mad at the manufacture?

Why not blame the dealer that installed it or yourself for not doing some investigation prior?

Always someone else's fault now days. No personal responsibility.

..I'm no tire rating's expert, But I believe the max load stamped on a tire carcass..is for that one tire's position on the vehicle....a 800+ lb bike will not put that entire 800+lbs on one tire...calculate the weight that the tire's position actually carry's then dont buy a tire for that position that is rated for less weight !

On the other hand...the mutli national corporations, are now so powerful, that they are legislating their own laws..and you cant expect to have any actual warranty...or durability in your tire... Listen to your fellow bikers for info on best wear and safety !

You are right, it was the Michelin rep who told me it was rated at the lower rate, it just goes to show that their expert is not really much of an expert. I checked with my dealer and it is indeed 81H.

It sucks they won't take care of your problem. I got the CommanderIIs because I wanted better wear than the Bridgestones and got that. But I also got better handling.

I ran two Bridgestone Excedras on the back of my Voyager and didn't get 10,000 miles that's why I went to a Michelin. 13,000 so far.

highwayman- The original Exedra's didn't last long. The Maxx is a much better tire. The issue with mine was a defective sidewall that bulged out. Bridgestone stepped up to the plate and took care of the problem. Just put new Shinkos on the RoadKing. Been wanting to try them for a while. Many of my friends are running them. I'll post a progress report when I get some miles on them.

Guess you didn't get the point did you, it has to do with the tire wearing out to the extent it did in the mileage that was put on it.

I'v still got two REAR..Metzler ME880's (made in brazil) sitting in my garage with massive tread/carcass separation, at less than 5,000 miles....and no dealer or mfg response !
..And where the hell is the DOT/NTSB in response to unsafe Motorcycle tires ! ?

I have run Michelin on my cars and trucks for years, and now on my Voyager, have 17000 on the rear Commander II and still lots of tread on it. until recent have had no problems, but one tread separation on a tire with 25.000 miles (70,000 mile tire) on my truck with $2000 damage to vehicle and Michelin won't do a thing, up to the Insurance company now,

Extremely Disappointed with Michelin Customer Care/Service....

I doubt DOT/NTSB, has gotten any reports of the Commander II being bad. We have to report them as I am sure that tire shops aren't going to take the time to do it.
