The Goat Belly Gap...
I finally ended up doing all the stuff I thought I would never do. Added a Dobeck TFI a while back, then did the Caddman Intake, and finally I bought a set of Cobra Longs that were for sale. I have to admit - pretty sweet... and even a bit loud.
But the pipes I got are two-down-the-right-side, which means that on the left side there are no pipes AND there is the large gap left by the absent Goat Belly. Has anybody made use of the space or built some kind of cover? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I guess you could hang a lunchbox there to keep your lunch warm while riding.

...I made this piece in the pics out of 1/8 aluminium and then polished it up. This is a 1500 so yours would be a different shape. I basically messed around until I was happy with the look of it using a cardboard template. A little time and a few bux and it fills the hole very nicely! ...Mike

I used the spot for a "tool pouch". I had also moved the second rectifier to the front so I used the mount to make a template for a new pouch mount. Works great.

All the Classics come that way with the open area. I don't think it looks bad at all. Just a nice clean look on the left side.

Mine (an 05' FI) had the second rectifier located there (OEM). When I removed the goats belly (installed V&H Long Shots) the "hole" was still hidden by the rectifier. When I moved the rectifier to the front with the other one it was, wtf do I do with that ugly hole.

Might look up steel vintage tool boxed for MC's or something, and add a tool box there.
