Extended Reach Brake Pedal For Voyager, Vaquero and Nomad

I had Joe (Chuckster) Norris modify a new brake arm for my Voyager. He did a great job on this and was very fast completing this project. He added 2-5/8" length to the original and kept the same angle for the rubber pad.

For you Voyager owners here this is a must have mod for these bikes. This will also work for the Nomad and the Vaquero in black powdercoat.

Next we are working on extending the heel and toe shifter.

These two mods will make long and short rides much more comfortable and enjoyable for me.

Thanks to Jim aka JD Hog for working with me on this project.

I made one of these a few years ago and now up to speed on reproducing these on a very short lead time for other fellow riders and this mod includes the Nomad and also can be achieved for the Vaquero in a black powdercoat.

Looking forward to working with all of you that want a very nice new placement of the brake pedal.

Like Jim mentioned as well, we will be working on a new Heel/Toe configuration to free up floorboard space too.

I just added the extended brake pedal from Joe today. As everyone says, it was a pleasure doing business with Joe and everything was quality and the fit was perfect. Haven't ridden with it yet but just sitting on the bike, it will make the right side a lot more comfortable. One of the first mods I did on the Nomad was to install the Drifter brake pedal and it made a big difference too.

I have one favor to ask. When I installed the brake lever, I must have buggered up the cruise control switch lever. The question I have is that I assume the switch must be engaged (pushed in) when the brake is not used and the way it looks, engaging the brake will move the bolt off the little lever or tab and disengage the switch, cutting off the cruise control. Pushing on the lever, I can hear the click as it engages. I think I inadvertently bent the little switch lever (see photo) and it does not engage the switch so I assume the cruise control will not work since there is no contact in the brake off position. Could someone confirm this thinking and perhaps take a picture of the switch on your bike so I can see how I need to bend the little flat bar contact lever. I now this doesn't make a lot of sense but once you look down there, you'll understand.

You're gonna love the pedal placement, I'm also adding to the front part of the shifter arms too free up floorboard space. Will be getting pictures up on web site soon.

In process of making new site, more user friendly and cart shopping.

You are correct on this adjustment. When I tested out the prototype from Joe I did not have it adjusted and the cruise would not engage. When I installed the finished product I adjusted it correctly and the cruise now works.

If you do this test it will let you know if the switch is working.

If you like the extra room on the right side you need to also purchase the shifter arm when it is available. I tested it a few days ago on a 100 mile trip and it was GREAT! I'm now waiting to receive it back from Joe (after chroming) and will install it again.

These two options are the best mod you can do for your bike and long trip rides.

That is Perfect. Thank you very much for your help. I'll adjust it tonight. Joe also mentioned the shifter option to me. Something to think about for sure.

The Drifter pedal does not fit the newer 1700's, I looked at it before trading in my '06 Nomad but not even close. Both do the same thing which is move the brake pad forward to give more room on the floor board.
