your tire rubs before your pipes hit the ground? I have a trailer hitch installed and it hits the calliper before the pipe hits the ground. Although there is only about an inch left before the pipes hits. Going to remove the hitch to see what happens, it's just a time consuming job as the trunk and all the rear chrome plastic has to come off. I do know that my kit from XoticCustoms, the shocks only have 9" of travel. They are designed for Harley's and those bikes can lay flat without rubbing. I suspect the shocks you are using have allot more travel.

yes my tire rubs the fender before anything else touches. i do believe the next thing to touch will be the caliper but i dont mind clearance the fender some to make that work. My shocks are the exact same as those in your kit just myn have been welded at the eyelets for strength.

I finally went for a 150km ride yesterday and i must say it`s way better ride than i expected with the Monroe shocks. Very smooth, just have to play around with the pressure a bit more. Just need something to stop it going all the way down, no fun if the tire hits on the highway.

I was thinking about what would be best,

make a distance plate to move the suspension point forward to get it not so low

or

take of top eyelet on the monroe and weld a distance between the eyelet and shock?

getting them exactly the same length would be an issue .. not sure what you mean about a distance plate ?

probably referring to a spacer plate of some kind / and he could use a fixture or jig to maintain equal and exact distance when refitting and welding back together, imho.

Yes, thank you.

The other way i was thinking of is if you take a lowering kit like the one been discussed and manufactured by a member in this forum, but make it go the other way so the shocks gets longer instead of lower (shorter).

Do i make any sense?

*** Yes, makes sense to me. I like your idea of maybe trying a 'lift kit' if possible, it would probably allow for easier modification/adjustments if required and also could just be removed if required.... instead of having to rework the shocks 'again' later if you wanted or needed them to be original length for unforeseen reasons . Good luck with this. Cheers.

Got to try something because really like the Monroe shocks, but need that insurance that if all air goes out. Can get ugly really quick.
