Considering Voyager/Vaquero

Thinking of upgrading my 1600 Nomad. Been doing a little research on the Voyager and Vaquero although no test rides yet. There are a few used bikes around my area to look at but I was wondering if there was a way to tell if the ECU has been flashed already just by looking at it? Like maybe a sticker that Ivan slaps on the unit?

yes Ivan puts a sticker and engraves the unit.

I dont think you will find a used scoot' with the Ivan flash. its simply to new, and frankly after the flash. I dont want to sell my bike.

good luck in your search.

Yes he does put a sticker and engraves some numbers on it but they are on the side of the ECU and it is very hard to remove the ECU from the rubber sleeve.

Just ask the seller if it has been done. Once you ride a bike with the ECU done you will now the difference of one without it done.

Thanks, guys. Seems to be the consensus from what I've been reading that after the ECUs have been Ivan-ized they're a different animal altogether so you're probably right- wouldn't be many on the used market that've been flashed.

As a matter of fact, if you do end up test riding one before buying it don't judge the bike on how it runs without the flash. After it's been flashed it's a completely different experience altogether. If you like everything about the bike except the engine, buy it, then flash it and you'll be a happy man.
