MY first oil change. Bought the bike "used" with 1500 miles last November. Dealer stated they had serviced and changed the oil. I usually do a summer and winter change but moved it up just in case (and glad I did). It was pretty dirty. Plus I wanted to get my Rotella in it which I have had good luck with in the past.

I used Rotella 15-40 for about the last 80,000 miles on my Yamaha Venture, which had 152,000 on the clock when I sold it. Never an oil related problem, never used an ounce and never added a drop between changes. And, Shell will tell you that it's okay for motorcycles.

After a few oil changes on my Voyager, I just drain well, put on a new filter, put 5 quarts of oil in and go riding.
