custom dynamics LED

I have a 15 Vaquero and am looking at either the plasma rods to place between the bags and filler.

OR... the Flats style.

Has anyone done this and if so, your thoughts on the install and real world usage.

Thanks

I thought about going this route for turn signals, haven't pulled the trigger yet. I emailed custom to find out if the plasma rods were flexible but never got a reply. the flat ones would have to be somewhat flexible to fit the curve of the fillers. I have some small round LEDs I think I will end up using instead.

please excuse the dirty bike, but I took a few quick snaps.

yes they are flexible to match the curve of the fenders.
I also have the tail light eliminator kit.

I had to remove the lights to put on the Black 3M WRAP film and the double sided sticky that held the lights came off.

no biggie, I just put some 3M Ultra High bond double side sticky tape to re adhere it back on.

My friends say they are almost Stupid bright at night.
..something im ok with.
cheers

I once had the opportunity to ride behind someone who had STUPID bright LED BLINDER BRAKE LIGHTS.

When he would tap or apply his brakes it was so bright the next bike in formation could not see ANYTHING. Kinda like a Snow WhiteOut but with RED LIGHT!!!!!!

The problem I had is when he applied the brakes I could not tell if he was Slowing down or stopped - Cause I could literally could not SEE ANYTHING except RED.

It was great for letting CARS know you are applying the brakes (I think it flashed a few times then went solid red) but it was totally BLINDING for any biker behind him at night.

Just food for thought - (In case you didn't notice - I wasn't very fond of the STUPID bright brake lights)

Love how the bike looks.
Did not think the plasma rods could bend. Are those the 14 inch length? I would think the 8 inch would be enough to indicate your intentions.
The one thing that has me stumped from Kawi is the rear of the fender, under the license plate. Why is there any circular indent? Why not be smooth? I want the license plate to be more molded around the fender, but that oval indent has me stumped.

BUNKY,
I was wrong.

this is the kit I got
http://chromeglow.com/products/brake...minator-09-14/

the indent is there because that is the Metal Fender showing.
the metal fender is shared in the Voyager/Vaquero line up.

the surrounding area is plastic and is Vaquero only. Cost cutting I assume .

this is a kit I was looking into, but the length is didn't care for, if they were half the length I'd be all over it. looks pretty good thought!

When I pay off the bike, I will be doing some work to clean up the back end. First is the lights and custom dynamics have some really great options.
But that indent is awful. So I will have that oval filled in and smoothed out to show a full fender look.Just not sure where to get that done. Maybe a body guy?
Just wonder if anyone has the same thoughts as me and maybe done it?

Why do my pics keep turning sideways? These are the two-color 8in. plasma rods. Modified the stock plate bracket and added the white LED plate blots from Custom Dynamics. You will need to factor in cost of their load stabalizer as well. Very easy mod.

Custom Dynamics makes some cool curved plates that integrate run/stop/turn/tag lights and look sweet even with the recess in the fender https://www.customdynamics.com/illum...D_Plate_Frame0
I fabricated my own bracket (fabricated is a bit of an overstatement as it is basically a straight piece of metal with a few holes drilled) and like the way the recess looks; kinda custom.

How bright/noticeable are the turn signals on the tag mount?

Hey Rookie,
Love the look of the ass end. 8 inch plasma rods look perfect for size. Was it difficult to place between the bag and fender?
Still not sold on the recess fender though. That oval indent just screams to me that there was something missing.
Do love the curved license plate holder as well as the Lights to illuminate the plate.
Is that the black denim paint job? Did you get it done and if so, what costs are associated with painting the Vaquero?

I used the 8" plasma rods which included the turn signal option and eliminated the stock turn signals. I then fabricated a license plate bracket which eliminates the big chrome snout. The 8 inch rods didn't bend but the fit in between the bags and filler nicely. Easy to do and looks great

Bunky, the plasma rods fit perfect between the bag and fender space. Paint is stock metallic flat black. I agree on the lower fender indent...looking to cure that in the "off" season.
