Paughco Exhaust

Has anybody ever used these items on their Vulcan? They are supposed to fit over a 1.75" header pipe. Is that too big or just right for the 1700cc engine?

I received the Paughco mufflers and am quite impressed. They look great! The sound is awesome! They won't slide over the header pipe because they are the same size. So I cut an 11" long piece of 2" id exhaust pipe and slipped it over each end for connecting. Mine is a trike so this length fit my needs. I could have purchased smaller diameter exhaust pipe and went inside each connection but I just didn't. If I was mounting on a standard 2 wheeler I would have went with the longer mufflers and used the exhaust connection on the insides for appearance. Anyway, the sound is AWESOME! Plus I did this for less than $150. So I saved about $350. That's enough for an Ivanized ECU!

ak602, here are 5 attached photos. The 1rst shows the rear of the trike. You can't see the pipes. If you expand the pic you can see the tips just to each side of the bumper mount. The 2nd pic shows how far up and under the mufflers are. The 3rd shows more. The 4th shows the extention pipe slipped over the muffler inlet. No clamp required. The 5th shows the extention pipe slipped over the header pipe. I used a clamp but it was not required due to the inability of the joints to seperate or even compress. I should have used some exhaust gasket sealer at these connections to be air tight but they fit so good that I decided not too. The chrome and finish of these mufflers is as good as any high dollar ones I've seen. The sound is awesome. I hope this helps you or anybody else with an economical but quality after market exhaust. (I posted this from my phone so the pics are sideways. I don't know how to fix that issue. Sorry.)

Thanks for the info on your new exhaust. Which trike kit do you have? Are you happy with the way it drives and rides?

Glenn54, I have the Motor Trike Challenger kit with IRS. I love the ride and handling! It's cushy and nimble. I tested a HD Trish Glide but this is sooo much better ride.
