changing clutch and brake fluid

Hi Folks,
Here in Southern Ontario, Spring is just around the corner and am anticipating the new riding season.
In looking over my service manual, it states to change clutch and brake fluid after 2 seasons. So I look at the fluids and see the color does look dark.
In looking at youtube videos, I am thinking about tackling this job. But there are no vids on a vaquero.
Should I attempt or is it easier/safer, just to let the dealership do it?

I change every other season. I installed speed bleeders and they make changing the brake fluid easy,

If your bike has ABS brakes be sure to follow the procedure in the service manual.

It's an easy job. I bought a little one-way valve with a length of tubing each side of it that I found online, which makes the job a simple one person operation.

I'm attempting to do it on my Nomad I just went to princess auto and got some clear tubing to attach over the bleeder valves....kind of old school I suppose but beats going to the stealership.

I bleed/replace the fluid in all 3 systems, front & rear brakes, clutch, last year on my Nomad. Used the old school bleed method like you would bleeding the brakes on a car. You can do it solo, but having a friend help, is always easier. Not as much jumping up and down, filling the master reservoirs.

Good luck.

My 15 Vac does have ABS. That's why I'm a bit hesitant about doing this myself. I will contact my dealer to see what the cost will be versus doing it myself. I do wish there were more how-to videos. Thanks for everyone's input.

If you have a service manual just follow the procedure in the manual.

I have a 2012 Voyager ABS and just use a vaccum pump from Harbour Freight. I pump up to about 20lbs, open bleeder, close when it gets down to about 5-7 lbs of vaccum. Repeat until I get clear fluid in the cup on pump.
