Speedo cable for Nomad 1500 (2000) VN1500-G2A
This is K part# 54001-1236
Mine has broken. Learned from multiple local dealers that Kawa no longer makes these. Spoke to a local DFW supplier that specializes in aftermarket bike parts and their mfg does not make this one either. I found on another forum that 54001-1215 for the 1500 Classic can be subbed. It’s just a tad longer but works. Sharing that info here. Anyone have any other sources, alternatives, or experience solving this? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

A GPS on the handlebars gives a more accurate speed than the speedo ever did and you can probably pick up a older GPS a lot cheaper than a new speedo cable.

Ebay has loads of them. Most are 37in long, which is too short. You need 39in minimum. Those cables are on dozens of different bikes.

A vn750 speedometer cable works. I got a 750 cable on my 1999 nomad.

54001-1215 is NOT a subsititutemfor 54001-1236
I tried one and it’s only 37” long whereas the 54001-1236 is 41.5” long
