front end shaking

2006 Nomad 45,000kms notice front end shakes violently when I partially take my hands
off the bars. No issue when hands are on the bars but do notice that it doesn't corner like it used to. Front tire looks ok, has dyna beads for balancing. Comments

Are your stearing head bearings in good shape and tourqued to the factory specs?

May not account for violent shaking but wrong tire pressure will affect handling. Run my front at 32psi like the sticker says.

Allballs, roller bearing kit, is the favoured replacement.

Tire pressure ok, have never had the steering bearings checked or replaced. I'm not mechanically inclined or do I have the jack, tools etc to tackle that job.

You need to take it to a mechanic then.That's what they are for.

I have 31,000 miles on my original neck bearings with no issues. My son's Voyager with only 9500 miles had the death wobble and a new front tire solved it even though the nice Avon it had on it looked perfectly fine.

Could be the tire. Happened to me with the stock one after a few thousand miles on it. Dyna beads in the tires is also the way to go for balancing tire.

So figured tire cupping is the problem - going to replace it with a Shinko sr777. Normally run 32psi in the front but hear some put up to 40 psi in the front - thoughts on tire pressure?

38 or 40 psi should stop the cupping and increase tire life.

You straight line yanks, will be fine with any pressure. Us Britiish, that get into the bends,favour 38-42psi

I get 3000m out of an back tyre, and 12000m out of the front, no matter what the brand

Dont forget us straight line Canadians Mick. I have got (26,000 kms) 16,000 miles out of a Cobra rear tire.

My bike shakes as well, ive tried everything under the sun to fix it.
I haven't found a permanent solution, the only thing that works is replacing the front tire.
Even though it looks like it has some life left in it, a new tire cures it for a while.

I found when I ran 40psi in the front it would wander. Forever correcting.
