I do need a three hole rack. Right now I am using the rack for the 1100 with 1 inch washers, it doesn't look that great because of the washers, they are chrome but the fit is not good!
I have never seen this rack before, do the holes line up?
Thanks

CherriAnn posted pix of her husbands MC with the fender rack on.
Gadget says the front two tabs have to be bent 1/2 inch, and he posted pix on his site.
So, I would guess that a rack for a Yamaha Star MC does not fit perfectly on the Nomad.
But it appears that people have made it fit.
Ask CherriAnn about the fitting.
Go to Gadgets site and ask him about it.
Good luck.

Thank you! I didn't think anybody noticed!!! ;)

Quoted from hubby about the rack on his 07, 1600:

The solo rack is for a Yamaha Road Star 1600-1700.
It was bought from Meancycles and made by Big Bike, Part # BI62105.
All I had to do was bend the front plate a little bit and drill a new mounting hole on the front.
I placed the front bracket over my seat bracket for a cleaner look. Then, the license plate is laid down with a piece of plexiglass I cut.
I counter sunk the two fender bolts and used a strip of the soft side velcro to keep the plate from rubbing any fender plate

Here's a picture I tried to find quickly showing more of a side angle (although he has great pictures in his own signature (username Spazz)...

Hello, did you drill the holes in the rack or your fender?
I see that you have a leather fender bib under the rack is that there to hide anything?
Also could you please post some more pics that are close ups of just the rack and how you mounted it.
I went on Meancycle and cannot find this rack, I also checked Big Bike and couldn't find it!!!!
Thanks

I'm so sorry you couldn't find that part number! He bought this a year ago, and I think he went and looked at his receipt to find that number. I'll have him check again and update in this thread tonight.

In the meantime, I went and found some of the pictures when he was installing it. I do know that he bought the bib just to match the bib on his tank.

Does this rack have three holes, two by the seat and one near the plate?
Thanks.

The rack only had one hole for the front and one for the back. This rack attaches to the fender where the front seat screws down and the rear of the rear seat. I have been back to the site for Meancycles and they do not show this style rack anymore. But they do list this rack number BI62114 as the one fitting the same Yamaha as the one I have on my bike. I do not know anything about this rack. The hole I had to drill was just behind the hole on the front mounting plate on the rack. The bib on the fender just went well the look. Also it kept the rack from scratching any paint. I have attached a series of photos with the rack mounted. If you need any other pics please feel free to ask. I will gladly take them. The bib also hides the seat bracket and the rack bracket had to be tweeked just a little to follow the contor of the fender. And because it was on top of the seat mount it may not have needed to be bent at all.

I contacted Alexadria at Motherwells and she said they don't have a bike to make a pettern by so maybe if one of our Washington members would drop by their company they would possibly get a free rack and get a Nomad specific solo round tube rack made for us.

How are these racks made? Is that stainless or steel that is chromed? Could they be aluminum that is polished? I'm interested in getting them made. Looks like you could sell a lot of them not just for Nomad but other brands also.

Spazz, what year is your Nomad?
This rack,...............does it bolt to the bolt that holds your driver seat in place and the bolt that held the passenger seat in place?
The fender bib covers the two hole that the passenger seat front tab slid into?
Thanks man.
To all others,............I would love to have a tubed rack made for the Nomad,................ If it matched the tubed bag racks that would be perfect!!!!!

My bike is an '07' and yes it uses the "front seat, rear bolt" hole for the front of the rack and the "rear seat, rear bolt hole" for the back of the rack. The bib does cover the front two rear seat bracket holes. It completes the rear of the bike and makes it look very clean.

This particular rack is made out of chromed steel. It was the only four rail rack I could find at the time to match the saddle bag rails.
