Fairing windshield

Does anyone know if the HD fairing windshields are pre-curved?

Bought a Reckless Fairing and am installing the electronics to see how my components fit before paint.

I am having an issue with how the supplied flat windshield is seperating the inner and outer fairing. If the HD windshields are pre curved I think that would solve the problem.

Jeff

I don't know about the HD brand, but almost all of the aftermarket ones I see on ebay are listed that they are flat, and are supposed to conform "perfectly" to your fairing.

I got a windshield from Long Ride Shield (http://harleyshields.com/) and it is both curved and has a recurve at the top. Their prices are also low.

The OEM HD shields are curved as well...but they are pricey, look at the other options listed.

I use the flat ones instead. Once you get it in place and bolted up, you'll be good to go.

I've used both the flat and the curved in my Premeux, and they both fit the same after you bolt the inner to the outer. The one thing to consider is the thickness of the shield (most will vary) and get the thiner shield. I'm currently running the Clearview, light tint, 9 1/2" tall with the re-curve at the top, and I love it. (BTW, it is pre-formed (curved))

Thanks guys for the info.

I checked out Long Ride Shield and was impressed with them. I called and talked with Matt at Long ride shields and was very helpful and knowledgable. I ended up buying the 8 inch clear with the flip.

Thanks Stevo for the link

Nomad72, I got the 10 inch with a flip. My son says that it added about 10 MPH to my speed. Sure is less windy with the new shield. I ordered a clear but got a light grey, Matt was very quick to send me a clear one in less that a week along with a return shipping label so I wouldn't be out $$ for return shipping. Long Ride Shield and Matt are great to do business with.
