New Lowers on the Nad

Put the Hard Lowers from JTD Cyles on my 2008 last weekend. Took them for a 400 mile ride through heavy rain, sunshine and other crap this week. They are really great. Kept my feet warm and dry. I spent a day prepping and painting them and about 2-3 hours on the install, including coffee breaks.

Don't the oversize lowers hit the lower fairings ? Mine do and they are the oem lowers. I had to turn them around backwards so they don't hit the fairings.

The stock oem lowers do hit them. I have to modify them before I install the JTD hard lowers.
Hopefully will have them on in a couple of weeks.

I removed the OEM lowers. However, I think I will try to turn them around backwards and see if it works for me also.

Where do you put the hard lowers when your 2000 miles from home, it get hotter than hades, you have no trailer, and you need to remove the lowers to get some air on you to cool off a bit and your saddlebags are packed with clothing?

They have vent doors that open and let in a ton of air. Also, when I put my feet out on the highway pegs, they get the full blast of air. And if it gets so hot that those solutions don't work, I'm looking for a hotel with a pool. LOL

The just barely touch when I have the steering head fully to one side. I put some paint protective plastic stuff on that spot...its 3 mil and self adhesive. Safe stuff you put on your car hood for chip protection. Seems to work so far...

Bikes that come equiped with these cant be removed either at a whim. Looks like the website says these are vented if req. For the wind and rain deflection, your going to love em.

Those do look good....especially on the Blue/Silver.... ;)! When we finally get together for a ride Jim....I will be looking those over closely. I would love a set myself, but I too have the Edmonds oversized lowers that I'm afraid would not be very compatible with the hard lowers without some major modification... :-/.
