Need help with exhaust

I know this has been discussed before but, I touched a terry towel to my hot exhaust. Any ideas on how to remove the baked on residue?

Need help with exhaust

I use a non-scratch pad (scotch brite or other brand) for cleaning teflon coated frying pads. I simply wet the pad with water and wipe the melted material (in my case usually the rubber heel of my boot). I do this when the pipes are cold and it comes off really easy and I have never left a scratch.

PS don't tell my wife where the cleaning pads really go she thinks I'm doing the dishes

Need help with exhaust

I used the oven cleaner to remove rubber from my boats that touched the hot pipes. It worked great. However, be careful to not get it on the parts (black paint) behind the pipes. It will remove the paint.
