4415A is the NAPA #.

If I recall correctly the lights already in the CWI's are self-grounding (you'll see what I mean when you take them apart) so you'll have to run a ground wire for the amber lights, but that's no biggie.

They're amber.

Because....they're not white?

I dunno, I suppose the yellow may stand out better, affording you greater visibility to other drivers. I think yellow is better in fog (wouldn't know - no fog around here).

They last longer than the white ones- kind of like the car-tire thing, TC. :)

Actually, I don't think there is any advantage- maybe there is in fog. Not too much fog in this neck of the woods.

I think they actually 'throw' less light on the highway than the white ones do, but the yellow light is probably a greater contrast to oncoming motorists than white lights.

Best thing to do is have one of each, or two sets of spotlights, one w/ each color.

Amber cuts fog better, rain, and snow... to a point.

Actually I think the amber is meant to create a "caution" response from those car drives that see you coming hence the amber running lights on the front of our bikes.
You don't have to buy amber lights and run grounds if you want to try the look. Go to your local hobby shop and buy a small can of amber spray paint for plastic and glass. They have it for models for about $6 or the liquid paint in jar for about $2. Paint the inside of your glass lens on the spots. Voila, yellow lights!

Amber spots are brighter than the white spots, making you more visible to others during the daylight hours.

I think they look cool, is my reason for liking them. Remember the old mustang gt>>> they always had amber fogs in the middle and looked great!!!!!!

Yellow spot lights??????

Back in the late 70's, when they started having bike headlights stay on all the time, it was for safety to help you stand out from the background. Now all of the auto mfgs have daytime running lights so you get buried in with all the other white lights coming down the road. The yellow lights are "different" enough to make you stand out a bit more.

If you had blue and red and they flashed.. you'd get even more attention

My Kury spots came with 3 different lens. I don't know about some of the other brands.
