Which GPS???

Trying to decide between two GPS units, Zumo 450 or TomTom Rider 2nd Edition . Zumo 550 is more than i want to spend. Zumo 450 seems to have problems dying or so web search shows.
Can buy TomTom Rider 2nd Edition or Zumo 450 at same price. Like Garmin but Zumo 450 scares me. :-[
Any suggestions?

Which GPS???

I got the Zumpo 450 for Christmas. Easy to install and working fine. Very well made. Very intuitive for basic use, but the instructions for more advanced use suck.

Which GPS???

I have the Zumo 550 which also come with a cage mount. Overall I've been very pleased with its performance. The Navteq mapping is a little farther behind on adding new roads than I would like.

Touch Screen works well with gloves, in the rain and bright daylight.

If you get the 450 and want a mount to use in your cage it will make the cost of the 450 almost the same as a 550.

I got mine from www.gpsdiscounts.com. Price included express shipping. Others may be a little cheaper but I don't know of their reliability.

I agree with the previous post on using advanced features can be challenging.

Which GPS???

I also got the Garmin Zumo 450 for Christmas. Wired the mount to the accessory wires under the gas tank. Bought the additional car mount and plug-in as well. Works great, although it did "go dead" or "freeze up" when I used it in the car the first time. Called Garmin and they told me to take the battery out of it, wait a minute, put it back in and then plug it up to the computer (usb plug) to charge it back up. That was back at Christmas and I haven't had any trouble with it since, using it on the bike and in the car. After the first of the year, they sent me a disk(free) to load the 2008 updates on it. Pleased with it so far.

I've got the Zumo 450 and like it. I've got the cage mount, think it came with the unit as I don't remember ordering it as an extra. No problems with it so far.

I have the Garmin Quest. Not a lot of features but it does have a 20 hour rated battery.

Which GPS???

I have the Zumo 550 and simply love it. I pair my cell phone and Scala Rider Team head set to it. I have talked on my cell phone on an 8 lane highway at 65 mph and people didn't even know I was on my motorcycle until I told them. The clarity is incredible. I find the gps very easy to use. I was looking at the 450 because of the $$$$ and my wife bought me the 550 for Christmas. In hindsight, I find that the extra cost is well worth it if you intend to take some extended journeys.
