Darkside claims another one

I finally fell to the Darkside. The Bridgestone radial that I put on my bike last spring fell way short of my expectations.I only got about 7000 miles out of it. While it was a great tire, the mileage sucks.
While looking for a new tire I had renewed interest in the DS so I started looking for something that I liked and would last a little longer. I ended up going with a General Altimax HP 205/60/16.
I haven't ridden too many miles on it yet but I plan on get in about 200 tomorrow so I'll see what I think after that.

Looks great! Any clearance issues? Me thinks I'll be definitely going to the darks side once my stone wears down. What are you doing for balancing of the tire?
Keep us posted,
Gary

I am interested in a credit card test at the drive shaft tube and the sidewall too. My reason is there is limited clearance, and I wonder about that with the gravel roads i have no choice but to ride.

If that were my tire unless there was another reson I think I would have reverse the mount to drag water backwards over drag it forwards, but the reality is not really real..

And another "Welcome to the DarkSide"..... Your tire was 2nd on my list of tires. I ended up with the Goodyear TripleTred. Enjoy it, you're going to love it.

Hey Mac, There is 3 credit card thicknesses (.09") clearance on the drive shaft side of the swing arm on my TripleTred. If you think about it, there isn't room for a piece of gravel to get caught in. Sorta like setting the rest on a bench grinder. You set it close to the grinding wheel to where your part won't get sucked down between the wheel and the rest.
And, the tires are directional, they have an arrow showing direction of tire rotation, just like MC tires. I believe the thinking behind it is, if you drag the water backwards, it'll cause you to hydroplane quicker.......

Now that's funny!

WN, hope you enjoy the car tire experience. I just can't think of any reason I'd ever go back to a m/c tire on the rear.

I'm riding about 200 miles tomorrow so that will be the real test. So far I like the way it rides with the new treads.

Welcome to the DS. I've read many good reviews on that tire. You'll wonder what took you so long.
