Progressive GP3-300 Motorcycle Pump

Hey, I figure even if it doesn't work for the Nad, I'll have a very, very nice pump for the bicycle.

My 1600 Nomad owners manual shows a max of 43 psi for the shocks. Would not a 300 psi gauge make it hard to read and to get both shocks balanced say at 25psi?

I think this pump is more for motorcycle tires than shocks. I have a progressive shock pump and the gauge has every mark on it is a pound of air. Its the gp3-60 0-60 psi gauge.

I'm not sure, but I think they make one with a scale of up to 60 psi, which is very accurate for dealing with the stock shock range.

My concern would be whether "close" will work for balancing the pressure in the left and right shocks. When you need to measure in 32nds of an inch, quarter-inch increments aren't that helpful.

I believe that gauge scale is in 10 pound increments.

Yes, the scale is in 10 psi increments. I was using a ruler analogy, though. Maybe it would have been better to describe it as being like using a yardstick to measure a postage stamp.

Keep us informed on how well it really works for you. The advantage of this forum is more than sharing great price deals, it's about trying the product first and providing the rest of us with a report on your real-world experience with it. That way, if it turns out to be a bust, it will save others from wasting money.

At $10 shipped, you almost can't go wrong. No one doubts it will pump air into the shocks. What we want to know is how accurately you can balance the shocks with, say, 12 psi each.

Sorry, I wouldn't be of much help there as the gauge is in 10 pound increments and you're gonna have to guess with anything other than whole numbers. I increased the pressure to 30psi (with the bike on the ground) and the ride sure feels much better though. It tracks much better after replacing one leaking shock and equalizing the pressure in both.
