The Nomad air and fuel delivery system is perhaps the poorest engineered part of the bike. Replacing the stock 2 sided air cleaner with idle solenoids setup with a right side only setup (chuckster/cadman/thunderair/hypercharger or other) that includes removing the idle solenoids and using a K&N or similar filter would be one half of the most important mod. The other half being adding a adjustable Fuel Injection controller. There are several plug and play models (Cobra FI2000R/TFI) available. The whole thing will cost about $400 if you go with all new stuff.
Bike will run cooler, avoiding the "ping" problem extends engine life, it will perform better both on acceleration and in carrying loads, it display much better drivability and it will allow you to use regular grade fuels.
Absolutely the smartest thing I did to my bike!

Good to know I am fortunate that the previous owner had that all done already!
