Wow, pretty sure I'm not going to try that. The first (and only, as of today) comment made me chuckle: "Nads on the tank!"

The last time I tried jumping a bike was on an old small Honda. I ended up face first in the dirt with the wind knocked out of me and my son thought I was dead.

:( One of these days something is going to go terribly wrong. I hope that he isn't too badly injured when it happens. He obviously wants attention, however there should be more positive ways to get it.

I don't know why he doesn't just go out and buy a dirt bike or an ATV. This can't be good for a cruiser. But I guess it proves how tough Nomads are.

I used to do jumps on a Honda 305 Scrambler and a Triumph 650. Wouldn't even consider jumping my Nomad.

Did you notice that Dan landed on the front wheel? Not the best jumping technique. It was fun to watch though.

Kudos to him for trying, although he didn't come close to the guy in the old picture.

The guy in the old-picture had his (two-ton) cruiser high in the air with the front wheel extended even higher -- and he was practically standing on the foot-pegs when doing it.

Oh well... he is still at it, garnering attention. One day it might be in the "obit's" though. ;)

I wasn't too impressed. One day he will make a fatal mistake. Any idiot could do what he did. I started jumping with bicycles when I was a teen and moved up from there. I was an idiot then but wised up. I would never risk doing any damage to my Nomad. My body is beat up enough and there isn't much more I can do to it. I just don't want to hurt the Nomad and would never try it with one. Well, maybe with Dan's but not mine.

I watched through all the way 'til the credits rolled, and caught the truthful statement at the end:
"Not safe or wise, don't do it"

'Nuf said.

Despite the sometimes-abrasive personality--the boy CAN ride.

I'm still in awe of his back country rides. I broke down on a "little" Triumph 650 one time while crossing a stream and can't imagine what I'd do with a non-functioning Nomad in the Outback.

I didn't notice much in the way of protective gear especially considering he was doing it for the first time. I watch his other video about riding through the police course that he found all set up....he took a big "shot" at KAWANOW at the end of that video.
Dan is not my riding hero at all. I've had beginner students that I have more respect for. Somebody with little riding experience will try to copy Dan one day and it will turn into a tragedy.
and he is some kind of counselor??
