Clearview Windshield

Is anyone rockin' this?
http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=229

Seems like a good price, thicker, wider, taller than stock, and that upper recurve deal as a $0 option has me intrigued.

Vent is cool as well but now we're starting to creep into the territory where I could talk myself into fairing prices.

At work right now, anyone know what this measurement is exactly as I want this shield to be at least 2" higher than stock and I remember Rifle having a tough time in the past getting this right. The one I would order is 23.5".

"Length is measured in the center of the shield from the top of the headlight cutout to the top of the shield."

They are suppose to be nice. But price seems high to me for a replacement shield.

A lot of us have them. I don't know if anyone is rockin' them or not. What ever the hell that means. ::) I got mine on Ebay. It was a blem and $100 off list. I would not have found the 1/4" scratch if they hadn't pointed it out to me.

I got mine for less than a 1/3 the price of the stock Kawasaki replacement. It is a better product than the stock shield. Contact someone in their dealer network. I got all the polishes as a bonus, shipping and it was less than $180.

Clearview Windshield

I have this shield with the re-curve and the vent. It's much better than the OEM, thicker wider stops the buffeting. I prefer the looks over a fairing and cost is much less than an OEM replacement. I don't know if the vent is worth the price, I can see no difference with it open or closed and cannot really feel much airflow when open, so I don't think it's much of a bonus in hot weather. You can get it 2" or 4" higher than stock. I got the 4" over and run it full up, now I have the option of looking through the shield are over the top depending on my posture. The clarity looking through the shield is excellent and does not have any distortion like some shields on the market. My Givi shield had a lot of distortion and was not pleasant if you had to look through it.

I have a clearview. If I remember correctly the site has measurements and info on their site. If you don't feel good about that they're really helpful as I called about the tinting because I wasn't sure I wanted it. Anyway I like the curve and the extra width. No vent. As I believe someone mentioned you don't want to look through the windshield. You want to look just over it, I believe 25' feet in front of the bike was suggested as a distance you can see without lookig through it.

Ask it they have any blems. They told me they had one with a little scatch which they believed was going to be hidden behing the chrome. When I received it I couldn't find any blem.

I've got the tall clearview with recurve and light tint. I'd do without a shield before going back to stock.......

Clearview Windshield

Replaced my winter lowers with some smaller ones as it's starting to get hot and I wanted more airflow. The helmet buffeting with the smaller lowers was stupid brutal.

Walked into work, sat down at my computer, yanked out the credit card and immediately purchased the 23.5" clearview windshield with the recurve.

Will let you know how it works out once it comes in and I get it installed.

I put the 23.5" with re-curve on my '08 a couple of weeks ago. Got a nice deal during bike week and I couldn't find the blemish if my life depended on it. The Clearview guys did the install at the show. Reduced the buffeting a whole lot and there is no distortion when looking through it.

My stock windshield was all the way up and it was a couple of inches low. The Clearview is all the way down and it is perfect for my height. Assuming you follow the practice of having the top of the windshield level with the the bottom of your nose.

In my case we had a little bit of problem with the screws. Four of them were frozen so bad to the nuts it took a pair of vice grips and a wrench to twist the bolt completely off. Since I didn't put the inner lower stock shield back the Clearview takes all short screws. (Original OEM was four short and six long.)

I am happy with mine, the reduced buffeting is nice.
