One life lost and one life ruined. Maybe this will get the
attention of some of the careless drivers that seemingly
ignore M/C's . Too bad it has to cost so many lives. SAD/

I think in the future you will be seeing more drivers prosecuted for this. There are also a lot of lawyers just waiting for cases like this. Even if they aren't prosecuted the family can get a lot of their money. Or the insurance companies money.

She should do six months in the slammer!
No license and the excuse is she didn't get around to it!! That to me suggests pure laziness and a laissez-faire attitude prevalent a lot of in todays spoiled young people and looking at her mugshot compounds my theory!

Didn't get around to getting a license = disrespect for the law.
How could the DMV issue a license to someone that is up on these charges? A license shouldn't have been issued until the case has been resolved.

I absolutely agree with what you guys have said regarding the girl's involvement and negligence.
But also keep in mind the biker was on his "maiden trip" with a newly restored bike, and may not have had his head completely in the game (watching gauges, inspecting clearances, turning an ear to a rattle).
This girl could have avoided the accident 100%, but it should also be a reminder to the rest of us that the only one looking out for you is YOU.

Ride Safe, Gentlemen

I can't believe they didn' say whether he was wearing a helmet or not.
They always play that angle.

Wonder if the police looked at her cell phone records to see if she was on the phone or texting. Already told friends and family to make sure that enquire is made if I have an accident. Cause if the police don't they will have more paperwork then they can shake a stick at!
