Looking for new battery, need some help!!

Hey guys, need to replace the battery on my '02 Nomad. Any suggestions where I can get one at a good price? I'd like to get a Yuasa or better! I tried motorcyclebatteriesusa.com, but they are all out for another two weeks or so, and I'd like to have one ASAP as I don't like the bike just sitting. Thanks in advance fellas!! Be safe..

I'd stay away from motorcyclebatteriesusa.com. They kept me waiting two months for a battery. They kept telling me the shipped, but never did. I finally got them to refund my money.

Not sure where you are, I got one from a local dealer in Maryland for $104.

Good luck,

Michael

Im still on my OEM battery so far, but will shop for equivalant when the time comes. Yuasa seems to be a popular brand for our bikes.

Looking for new battery, need some help!!

I ordered one from batteries usa online 2.5 wks ago, put all my info in never got an order comformation & since they DON`T have a phone number, i had to contact them from the link on their site & finally after 2 emails, they said they never recieved the order, I had already placed an order with battery sales after a week & a half. I told them to forget it & I don`t like not being able to call someone due to no ph# on their site.

Its a real pain when there is no phone number listed, Ive found that on many sights. When there is a problem your at their mercy, whether or not they will ever get back to you. It seems some company's don't want you to call them at all anymore.

It's because the internet has made it possible for some guy working out of his basement to appear to be a big vendor like Dennis Kirk. Most of the time these little vendors have no inventory, orders are drop shipped from the major parts distributors, and no staff to answer phones or read and return emails.

Just last week I ordered a 12v charger for my Zune from a place online. When I placed the order, the webserver kicked out an error instead of displaying an order confirmation. I emailed the vendor, explaining what happened and told them I didn't know if the order was actually placed or not, and just wanted to know that the order was received and what the order number is. Never got a reply. I didn't know either way until the charge appeared on my bank account. I did receive the item I ordered, but never got a reply from the company. It can be frustrating.

Try http://www.cyclepartsnow.com/ I stumbled to this local store and they have excellent customer service. John and Boots are easy to deal with and will give you straight answers.

Looking for new battery, need some help!!

I just bought one yesterday from the local dealer. I was quoted $142 and told them that was crazy and was about to hang up when he said, "oh, we have replacement batteries for $97". When I picked it up I asked him, "isn't every battery bought a replacement battery"?

I didn't have time to shop around, as I needed the battery to make my Classic run. The Nomad is down for the week, so I'm rid'n Skullatore again, and man she's fast!

chmorro, I just replaced the battery in my 2000 Nomad FI with a battery from Batteries Plus. After mentioning to the salesperson that I was going to check with the local bike shop he knocked 10% off immediately. Out the door for less than $80. Turns out the bike shop's best price was almost $100.
