Michelin Commander II

Anyone running the new Michelin Commander II tires? Long mileage cruiser tire.

I was comparing the Michelin 180/65/16 to the stock Bridgestone 170/70/16 tire. Using a tire converter metric to inches, so I could understand the size difference. The stock Bridgestone is 25.4 x 6.7/16 inches, and the Michelin is 25.2 x 7. 1/16 inches.

Almost the same height and about an half inch wider. If my math is right.

I have one on my rear and like it a lot, I put 700 miles on it on my trip to Laughlin and it handles nice and ride is good, no problems withthe fit at all. This weekend the front gets changed to match.

Got the same tire on my Vaquero-about a thousand miles on it. So far so good.

I paid $165 before taxes and shipping to me. it was actually lower than the advertised price in the US at the time.

Smokey, Where did you buy your tires from? Get them in Canada? I see the rear only comes in a 180/65-16 ? Is that what you ordered or received. Thanks for the information. Dennis

I ordered mine from Petes superbike in Montreal, it was the size you mentioned which fit fine, mine was back ordered but as I ordered it in January it was no big deal.

Don't forget they are US based, so shipping, brokerage fees, etc etc. I factored all that in and it was cheaper in the long run to order from Petes.

$110 - $168 at Petes, when prices are this close to US ones, I try to buy in Canada.

I got about 14,000 out of my set, could have gone another 3,000 on the front but changed them out.

You may want to also contact my unit at CVFR Aylmer, they just formed late last year, great bunch of guys. On the website at www.cvfr.ca you will see a sidebar with the unit info, that will have the Aylmer contact email in it. I am over in Orleans. Always willing to go for a ride to Hawksebury or other locations.
