Almost done...but it feels like mine now!

I am very close to having this new ride all dialed in. It's funny...I was talking with Greg (Schoeney) last week and he hit it on the head. When we bought our Nomads...it took awhile to figure out what felt good and what you needed on the bike to make it comfortable. Buy a new bike now after having been all over the country on the Nomad and you know EXACTLY what you want and need!

I have been working furiously (as has my credit card) to get this thing where it needs to be for me....and it is almost there. I got all the little stuff done....Kruzer Kaddy cupholder , my GPS mounted, XM radio activated and stuff like that. The Utopia backrest is the bomb...and I finally got my home-made highway pegs mounted in the perfect position. Today I rolled into my work shop for a few hours and mounted my HD luggage rack, flags and Tank Bib from Franks Leather Products. When it rolled out of the shop with my Norwegian/American flags flying high...it finally felt like MY bike again!

Next week I have some halogen driving lights (police style) and new exhaust pipes arriving so it has to go back to the shop for one more visit to get those installed. I'm still looking for the perfect windscreen. The stock one was really nice, just too tall, so they installed a shorter, narrower one. It will be coming back off (and credited back) as they said just try it. I did and don't like it....its a little short and narrow so too much buffeting. I will either try another model windscreen or just have a few inches cut off the top of the stock one...not sure which yet. She's coming together nicely though...so I thought I would post a pic...but I won't ask it it makes me look fat! It DOES make me feel good though...and I once slept at a Holiday Inn Exress.....!

Looks great ,Kris. 1 Question. What kind of antenna do you use for your XM, and where did you mount it?

Looks good Kris! Be sure to post some pics of your driving lights when you get them installed. I've never seen them on one of those bikes.

The stock antenna is kind of hidden behind the trunk. It is mounted alongside/below the trunk on the right side and angles back at about the same angle as my flags.

Here are a couple pics off of the Victory Police Bike website of what they will look like. Mine will use the very same brackets that are made for the Police bikes, but will have white sealed beam halogen lights instead of the red/blue lights nobody likes to see....

I plan to pull off the tank badges as the red kind of takes away from the blue IMHO. Besides....it says Victory in the chrome strip on the side of the saddlebags. I did get a couple funny looks today when I rolled into the Harley Dealership.... They carry the Gerbing stuff and I needed a new cord.

That's a sweet ride and there's not much better than a new bike dialed in just right. Hope you and your lady enjoy lots of happy miles on her
