Chuckster's Dual Plate Intake - $100

I have a used Chuckster's Dual Plate Intake with a K&N filter for sale. These are $165 new for a 1500.

This intake was installed on a fuel injected 1500 Nomad. It works great, with easy installation. This intake allows the use of the stock dog bowl cover; which protects the filter from the elements, curious fingers and maintains the balanced stock look. The stock cover does not get in the way of your knee. Additionally, the crossover tube can remain in place.

Buyer is responsible for shipping costs.

Will this fit on the 1600? I looked on Chuckster site but couldn't tell.

Okay per Chuckster's feedback this filter will fit a 1600 with the following modifications:

"You will need new rear tank bolts and shims. Then not reuse the 1500 cover spacer and you can shorten the cover bolt to 3/4"."

With this can you do away with the other side and loose the cross over tube or do you have to leave it in?

You can do away with the cross over and the left side air filter and backing plate.

The choice is yours; you can eliminate the left cover and cross over tube or you can leave them in place and just install the intake under the stock right cover to help protect the filter element.

Rain on an open intake filter won't hurt anything. I had one of Chucksters dual intakes in single intake mode (no dogbowls, aftermarket flat cover....nothing covered the filter) and never had a problem. I think Chuckster drilled/tapped an extra hole in the cover for me but I don't remember. Still, it wouldn't be difficult for someone to do the same to another.

I rode over 500 miles one day in June in tropical storm pouring rains with the single plate set-up with no issues.

And again yesterday for about 50 miles trying to get home.

If anything it may help reduce carbon build up. One of the ways of cleaning out the carbon is to lightly spray some water straight into the intake. Since water won't compress, it can help to loosen the buildup.
