VBA Logo Contest

VBA members, we are holding a contest for a new logo, and we need you to break out your pencils, or warm up your laptops for some great ideas!

Purpose:
We’ve been operating for a few years with the existing logos, and they’ve served us well, but we’re not looking to change just for the sake of change. Our new logo will be simpler to reproduce on shirts, patches, etc., helping to reduce costs and lead times associated with that as well. Additionally, we’ve never been challenged by Maw-Kaw for using Kawasaki copyrighted images as part of our logo, but the topic has surfaced once or twice, and we want to be certain we respect Kawasaki ownership rights.

What we’re looking for:

• Submissions can be complete, or “napkin” drawings for concept
• Easily recognizable as Vulcan Bagger Association
• No more than 3 colors (no shading or halftone) The new logo will preferably look good even if printed in monochrome, but not a requirement
• Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting
• The normal legal type stuff:

o Logos cannot contain copyrighted material. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s). Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published
o Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights to the logo, to Vulcan Bagger Association (VBA). Additionally, VBA may alter, modify or revise the logo as it sees necessary to achieve the goals of the association. VBA reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.

How to submit:
Email digital graphics, or scan/picture of detailed hand drawn concepts to VP, JEStephens, at stephensaj@hotmail.com, using Subject Line: "VBA Logo Contest"

Deadline:
Submissions will be accepted through October 15, 2013

Selection:
Submissions will be compiled by JEStephens and presented to the VBA staff for deliberation and selection of finalists. Forum members will have an opportunity to vote between selected finalists (number of “finalists” may vary with VBA sole discretion)

What you could win:
Bragging-Rights! Don’t take that lightly though. You will have created the logo of a large international association, which is resume building material no matter what your career choice!

It’s as simple as that! So get your creative juices flowing and see what you can come up with.
