Time to change beer and underwear

I would have pissed myself right there...

HOUSTON (KTRK) - Marcus Forson drinks Bud Light at most of his parties, and last week was no exception.
But this case of 18 held 19 items - only 18 of which were beer bottles.
"When I first opened the box his head was like this and his head was in between my fingers and I didn't know what it was at first then I realized now what it was," Forson said.
The beer bonus stowaway was a small snake which had died after apparently slinking around inside the box.
At first Forson thought he was the victim of a really good prank.
"I thought she was playing a joke on me and she had it inside the box," Forson said. "Like a rubber snake."
But on a closer look, and the strong stench of dead snake, told him this serpent was real.
"There's no way I was going drink the beer it stunk bad. The snake was dead. The snake was ice cold," Forson said. "It's kind of shrunk up and the eyes are missing out of it."
Forson made the best of it. Since no one was harmed, he slipped the snake into a bag and had an interesting item to show his guests.
"Luckily it didn't come out of the box and bite anybody," Forson said.
Forson contacted the makers of Bud Light, who told him they would send him a refund.

A refund?, a refund?, with some thing this serious it used to be many makers of consumer products would send a rep armed with a replacement and other samples of products they make. A couple of years ago Kraft foods sent me a full refund and about $25 in vouchers for some of their other products when I got a salad dressing that was contaminated with something.

I guess there are so many scams out there though that these companies hear about them way too often and most people wont sue them. But a SNAKE???? Hell no! I want free beer for Life!

It might have been different if it were still alive. Maybe he should have contacted the local distributer before calling the news station. They would have been more likely to compensate him without it going public.

Un-freaking believeable that this would even be a news worthy story!

The American male has really been pussed down. It was a dead snake in the case not in the product. I bet this guy will have to seak out therapy.

There was nothing wrong with the product. If he was that concerned, he shouldn't drink straight out of the can or bottle. Or better yet, send it to me.

A refund, compensation....Come on...is it THAT traumatic of an experience? Shit happens. Man up, throw it away and get on with your life.

I dont do snakes... of any kind, variety, color, length, size, etc. I guess Im a puss then cause I would have pissed myself and it would have taken every beer in there to calm me down. The point is he didnt KNOW it was there at all and you dont expect to reach into a 18 pack and grab a snake. Those things freak me out...period.

Now if he opened the case to find a live spitting cobra, that would have been newsworthy. This is just some wimp who doesn't deserve to even drink beer, he should stick to iced double lattes or milk.

BTW, snakes are cold even if they are alive.

I won't drink the beer, it obviously killed the snake.

I wouldn't think a true Canadian would drink Bud Light in the first place.

No offense meant, Dave.

You can bet it didn't leave the brewery or the wholesaler with the snake as a stowaway.
Most likely the snake got in the box at the store he purchased it at.
But the brewery won't mind buying him a 18pk.
Marcus doesn't sound like a native Texan to me.

I gotta try some of this northern beer. I drink either bud light or Yengling. In Portland a few years ago, I got a taste of some real beer. I loved the whole atmosphere up there and the microbrews were incredible. So good in fact that when I got back to Houston I had my local distributor "import" some of the brands I had there. My favorite was one called MacTarnahans! Lawd, that stuff was good. They just recently opened up some breweries in the downtown Montgomery area here and it sure made me miss the big city even LESS! IPA's and Ambers bring a smile to my face!

Some times if I'm out of milk and desperate I put it on my cornflakes.

I brought some 13% king cans to the rally we had at Lake George, nobody would try them, so I drank them all.

None taken.
But as I have posted on several occasions the difference between U.S. and Canadian ABV is minimal.
As someone who lives in Arkansas and works in Oklahoma I've had these conversations before. Oklahoma is a "Low Point" beer state.
Arkansas is not. Just try to tell a Arkie that there's really not much difference.
This is the same thing. It's one of the "Don't cloud the issue with facts, I've already made up my mind" situations.
