Khrome Werks Handlebar

Has anyone tried these bars on a 1600?

I'm having a problem on long rides with the angle my wrists using the stock bars. I have to set the throttle lock and rest my hands on top of the grips and levers for relief and find my hands feel much better at the more relaxed angle and takes a lot of tension from my shoulders. Just guessing but the stock (buckhorn style) bars look like the grips are angled back 40-45 degrees the Sweeper bars are listed at 27.

From their web sight;
"We believe the Sweeper handlebars are the best touring bar on the market. The bar sweeps back with a graceful curve. The design allows the wrists to be ergonomically positioned when your hands are firmly on the grips ensuring greater comfort for longer periods of time."

I used a set of those bars for awhile and they worked really well, but were not high enough for my liking. I have since changed to a set of 13" ape hangers. I believe that you would definitely like those bars verses the stock buckhorns.

I would love to hear some input also. The stock bars are a completed animal on my 1600 with or without riser extensions. Grip angle also. I can't get comfortable on them.

I changed to 12" apes on my 07 Nomad and hated them. Made my right arm cramp and my right wrist feel like carpel tunnel.
I was trying to get rid of the pain in the back of my neck/shoulder area after 60 miles.
Put stock back on and still have the pain.
I like the wrist angle of the stock bars.

It would be hard to tell someone else how a set of bars might feel to them. That being said, I am 6'2" and have a set of 14" Santee standard apes on mine and find them quite comfortable. Longest day with them was 16 hours and 650 miles. Wrists, neck, back and shoulders were fine. The mustang seat helped out too, but if I had the dough I would invest in a custom seat and pillion as well.

You might try the socket-under-the-stock-riser lo-buck riser mod, then adjust the bar angle and the lever angles to suit.

Thanks for the reply's Y'all
Ryder the very first mod to my Nomad was a set of Phat2 risers. I've tried several angles and adjustments but have not found the sweet spot. I'm 5' 8 on a good day and using the risers and back rest helps a lot but the wrist angle is just wrong for me.

So I got the sweeper bars and they look like a good grip angle compared to stock.
I mounted the bars with the stock risers, the Phat2 risers were way to tight as the clutch and brake lines were not long enough. I will try them again when I move both the lines under the triple tree. After a short 100 mile ride today I found the grip angle better for my wrists and I did not get the tightness between my shoulder blades that usually bothers me. They do make me lean forward a bit to far so I will need the Phat2 risers or maybe some spacers.
