Gotta change seat

back from my mountain ride... about 1000 miles for the week and my balls and tailbone are still hurtin... rode the OEM gel seat for more firmness but the 1" higher made me feel very tall and straight up, almost throwing me forward to the point of numb nuts.... gotta be a better seat to lower and throw us 1700 riders back a little ... what do you guys think of the mustang touring... it has no part of the seat that rises above the tank... that is where my crotch hurt so much... otherwise.... bike very, very smooth ..thanks

I have the Mustang and love it. That being said many have gushed over the Russell Day long. Search the threads and I am sure you will find the useful info.

It all boils down to how much you're willing to spend on a seat. Comfort = money when it comes to motorcycle seats.

I've heard love/hate stories on all the other seats manufacturers but I've NEVER heard anyone complain about a Day Long. That will be the 1st thing I order on any new bike I may buy in the future.

I put a H.D. Road Zeppelin on my Ultra the 1st of the year and I was pleased with it on my recent trip to Orofino.

The only people that have complained that I have read about are short people on tall bikes, like BMWs. They can raise the riding position, but your ass won't hurt. It's the lazy boy riding position that does it with mediocre seats. There are other custom seat manufacturers, like Laam Seats, Bill Mayer, Rich's Seats to name a few. Baldwin Seats too. Any of them will be better than a Mustang or similar off the shelf seat.

+1 for Rich's.

Had a Mustang, hated it. My tailbone fell asleep. Have a Corbin Young Guns now. Moved me back and helped me stretch out (I'm 6'1"). They start out very hard, but as you ride them they get really comfortable. This is my 3rd Corbin, and I will never ride anything else.

It has been a while since I had the stock seat so I really cant remember as far as a comparison goes. I have the Mustang Touring with the backrest and I always use the backrest which lets me lay back some. It seems a very comfortable riding position for me and I cant go without the backrest. Love it.

The Corbin is a HUGE improvement over the stock seat. My nuts don't get numb from riding up on the gas tank anymore.
