Dunlop American Elite Tires

Has anyone gone from the Commander IIs to these. I have had good luck with the Michelins but always looking to improve handling and tire life.

I'm running the American Elites on my bike. My Harley handles great with them, but that's the bike they were designed for. I have about 8,000 miles on them and they still have plenty of tread left. I would expect to get 16,000+ miles out of the set.

Yep, love it so far. Hopefully they wear better than the 12000kms I got out of the commander II

Got 14,000 miles on mine and only half worn. Handling is greatly improved also. Won't mount anything else now! The extra price is worth it. 1700 Nomad

I put two of them on my 2011 Voyager. Got 23,000 miles out of each of them. On my 2012 Nomad I have a Commander II that I have about 15,000 miles on but it doesn't look like it will get to the 23,000 mark like the American Elites did. When its gone, I'll go back to the American Elite.

As far as I know the Dunlop American Elite only comes in a rear tire. The Elite III is a different tire but it does come in a front and rear. The American Elite is a Dual Compound tire (hard in the middle, soft on the outer edges) for longer life and good handling.

There is a second generation American Elite now, front and rear.

Is the front tire MT90B16? Specs show Voyagers have 3.50' rim... the Dunlop page shows this tire good for a 3.0' rim??

Back Tire I'm assuming at 180/65-B16...Specs show the Voyager has a 4.5' rim,,, Dunlop recommends this tire for a 5.0' rim....

So, is this compatible and safe?

Appreciate the help.....
