accessories for Nomad

HI Guys, I'm a newbie on this forum and was wondering if anyone has successfully mounted a windshield bag for the 1600 Nomad. I can't find one that fits. Also has anyone installed handle bar risers? If so how did you install them.
I am going to try and make it to the rally in Eureka Springs, hope to meet some of you there.

Thanks, Bob

I ran a piece of flat stock alum. from one bracket to the other windshield bracket then mounted it on there.
By the way welcome to a great site. Now don't get offended but where in the hell are you from? ???

Welcome to the Nomad Nation from Phoenix AZ, Bob. I have never messed with a windshield bag, but risers are a piece of cake. The main concern is risers with too much pullback can interfere with the speedo assembly during a turn.

That's right to the point, Fish!

I just put the National 3 piece bag on the Wife's 08. I had to make different mounting holes. It was not a big deal to do.

Welcome to the forum from Canada, Ive never installed a windsheild bag but it shouldn't be too difficult. Might try velcro tape.

Changing the risers is pretty basic. I think most people on this forum have done it. Its just a matter of taking a few bolts off.

I picked up one from local shop that was meant to work with memphis shade shield. I just ground off the rivets on the bag's little bracket and drilled holes in the bag that matched the existing windshield bolts. Used a couple of stainless fender washers to keep the acorn nuts from pulling through the bag.

Welcome to the board from Vermont. If you're like me and your workshop is out of the back of your SUV, pick up a catalog from your Kawasaki dealer and turn to page 83. I got item 4b. Took about a week to come in. Mounts on the two center bolts. I had to raise my windshield to clear the tachometer

Mounting it was challenging by myself as you must press it into the curve of the shield as you are lining up the acorn nut inside the bag to thread on the longer bolt supplied with the bag. BTW, the bag is HUGE and will hold lots of stuff.
If you post mods to your bike we always like to see pix

Welcome Bob D. Haven't mounted a windshield bag but have a small one on the handle bars and another that really works well but hardly seen under the rider's backrest per a tip on the main KawaNOW web site.

I put this Hopnel bag on. It's the Harley version. I bought it because the mounting holes didn't line up and I wanted to put my own on the hard backing.
