Towing a boat...

Saw this picture on an FB HD page. Don't know if it has been posted here before. Sorry if so; but I thought this was nuts...

I would venture to say that the towing capacity is being exceeded. Hope he doesn't have to make a quick stop!

I'd like to watch him back it down a boat ramp.

My thoughts too. He'd be OK with brakes on it. I wouldn't hazard a rig like that without 'em.

We have a local guy that pulls a trailer with his canoe and some toys in it,
for the local toy run. People seem to really like it, I spotted him at Americade
a couple of times too.

Assuming it is a 14 footer, the aluminum boat weighs in around 285lbs if it is a quality built boat, looks like around a 15hp, mine weighs in at 89lbs and the trailer is a pretty basic galvinized job probably weighing 230-250lbs, so he is probably pulling around 625 lbs if there is no other gear in the boat.

The road look's empty and he probably know's it well, having towed it many time's before without a problem.

I don't really see a huge problem here. The bike has plenty of braking capacity and he probably uses a sling or a shallow ramp by hand to get the boat in the water.
