Clearview windshield for Vaquero

Just received my Clearview windshield and took it for a ride. Wanted to help spread the good word and show some good pictures. I'm 100% satisfied with this thing. This is the "small" version. I'm 5'11'', with mustang seat, and with my normal riding posture.. I think I slouch some.. its right at nose level. I don't get any wind at all. Its perfect. In fact I can sit up very straight and don't really get any wind in my eyes until i get my chin up above the edge. Also.. spend the money and get the vent. It lets just enough air through to be a nice breeze.

I own a Clearview shield with the Vent - Be cautious!!!!!! I kinda angled the vent to blow some air toward my face and a bug was diverted from in front of my shield, through the vent right up my nose. Thought I was gonna have to get needle nose pliers to get it out. (I wonder if that's how those pliers got their name?).

Anyway - Beware!

I have the same one on my Vaquero and love it. My wife bought it for a Christmas present the year I got the bike. I think that was the first mod that was done. Still love it.

Be aware or careful of how high the recurve part of the wind screen is. I bought one that was taller and I had the reflection of the chrome from the handlebars in my line of sight in the recurve area. It really interfered with my vision of the road in front of me. It was too tall. So i bought a shorter one and I love it with the vent.

I'm looking over the top of it, so I hope I will not have an issue. Thanks for the heads up though. I will look out for it.

I've been reading this thread and came across your post . Thought I should let you know that I use a product call Lucas slick mist . There probably are many other alternatives to this . I put a clear view on my bike three years ago . It leaves no streaks and easily wipes bug splatter off . It still looks like the day I bought it .

By the way I use it for the entire bike .... works awesome and leaves a showroom shine .

Hope this helps !!

I will try it. I tried to find the type of material Clearview uses but all I could Find Was "DOT approved Plastic" Must be a trade secret.

I usually give my shield a light blowing with my air compressor before I wipe it to prevent dust scratching the surface . My bike usually gets very dusty where I am .

Lucas is much like a protective sealer and you'll find when it rains the water will bead off quite easily . A couple of my friends are now using it as well.

I carry a small spray bottle in my saddle bag for quick cleaning . I hate bug splatter in my view , or on my glasses .

I bought the same windshield with vent for my Vaquero. It is the best windshield I ever had on any bike I have ever owned. It is like setting in a pocket. I can hear my music better. The vent is great on hot days.
