Harley lower fairings

Figured I would start a thread on this.
I bought aftermarket lower vented fairings and crash bar. I took about 2.5" off each end of the bar and fabricated new mounts to attach to the existing location on the Nomad. these are painted black as I am not going to re-chrome and the black should blend in fine with the Nomad frame.
I bought stainless 1.25" clamps that will bolt to the stock upper crash bar mounts.
I will need to do some slight trimming of the fairings on the inside as the Nomad frame is wider because of the radiator. I will post more pics as as I get more done, Just sharing.

Thank you. I will keep the pics coming as this progresses. After I get these fitted I can then tear it down for paint.

Looking good.
I am glad you liked my suggestion of fitting the Harley crash bars and lowers rather than trying to make the Harley lowers fit the Nomad crashbars.

The Nomad bar is just the wrong shape in the corners and too tall. I have less than $100 in this project so I'm pretty happy.

Love the look
want to do this myself as well
only concern is
is there enough cooling air flowing over the engine?
the radiator cools the bike but is that enough?
we live in warm climates.
If I get a satisfactory answer i'm doing the same.
thanks for your post
Mark

I am not concerned at all about the cooling. The vents still function as stock although they lost about an inch of travel after trimming but they still open up a couple inches.

Your bike is looking pretty awesome . Great work done !!

Just though I would mention that I have seen aftermarket oil coolers out there but I'm not sure just how much work it takes to install them . It doesn't get that hot up here where I am so I haven't givin it any thought .

If I remember correctly some have stated that with the louvres closed on their Voyagers the motor actually runs cooler than with the louvres open.
