New Camaro

I had a 1970 Mustang Mach I my parents purchased for me in my junior year of high school. It was loaded with the 300 hp 351 Cleveland, 3 speed automatic transmission, AM Radio with factory 8 track, front and rear spoilers, AC, and through the hood shaker hood scoop. It was bright yellow with the black stripes and ran the 1/4 mile in the upper 13's consistently pure stock. After I put the cam, headers, 4.10 gears, 650 dual feed Holley, and other goodies it was turning low 12's on our local 1/4 mile track. Sticker on this machine was $4,700. A loaded Vette was $9,000 at that time. Those were the days, wish I would have kept that Mustang. Today's GT's are replicas of the 1970 model.

I know what you mean. I had a 1983 Camaro and I put a 400sbc in it. I don't know the ETs, but it would do 105 mph in a quarter mile. That's with 3.08 gearing. fast and quick cars are always fun. Today's Camaro will probably go for 35K before any dealer convenience fee. A vette is in the mid to upper 40's. I wonder which car is a better deal...

I just meant the A/C unit is huge. Not the whole car. Sorry for the mix up.

My GTO has factory A/C. It works, but in 1965 technology terms vs 2009, it is poor. And it holds a bunch of heat. This thing is HUGE!
I just hope GM ( Chevy) keeps it affordable.

GM vehicles have always had good A/C. I could get the temp inside my Camaro down in the 50's on a hot day. No so with my Jetta. I don't think it gets too hot in Germany. Same with Volvos.
