This is common on allot of bikes, maybe not this one. That's why custom dynamics sells " Trick flashers " to slow the rate of the blink down Cars are different, same with trailers, cause the trailer runs through the cars wiring, which in turn will do the same as their load equalizers do as seen here & trick flashers: http://www.customdynamics.com/trick_flasher.htm http://www.customdynamics.com/loadequalizer.htm As far as running tail light LED boards, etc, there's no problem there, because they are no " Flashing " at the same rate as turn signals. They will either be a bit brighter because they are getting more voltage then required, and the LED board requires less |

If you change the REAR lights from incandescent to LED then you have changed the BASE circuit and caused a load issue causing the lights to FLASH fast on the turn signals. This is due to the type of flasher/relay used in the system that ALSO had distance measuring in it. In a CAR/Truck the self cancel is when you make a turn in the steering wheel it clicks back when at centre and cancels the signal to the flasher relay. The LOAD (resistance) equalizer is to return the stock arrangement when you removed the current draw that the system was designed for so you don't get a fast flash rate. An electronic or some call them HEAVY duty flasher in place of the standard would also return the system to a normal flash rate. Most LED bulbs (that fit into stock housings) that look like the bulb but made up of LED's on a circuit board) have the circuit built in to correct this. Signal Dynamics (for example) do not and you would require a load equalizer to solve the problem. But when adding extra LED lighting (like a strip light for brake) to the existing circuit you are ADDING to the load that is there albeit by a small amount. In the case of adding extra turn signal lights you're not taking anything away from the circuit now just adding extra so it will flash the same as it always did. Two very different situations.

Sooooo, let me see if I got this straight.
If I take my headlight out and put a candle in there I can run a kerosine lantern on the back with no problem, correct? ;)

OK. Speaking of Apples and Oranges. What if I want to put Red and Amber lights on the same circuit? What then?
