This mornings Ride into work
Hey All,
2008 1600 Nomad...25000 miles. This morning I was on my way into work and my exit was packed with cars so I decided to go up another exit instead of waiting. In order to do so I had to "gun it" so to speak to keep from getting ran over. When I reached about 70 MPH I felt like I was running over rumble strips. It seem as if the engine started running very rough. When I got to work I listened to the engine and the only thing I could hear was a whining noise coming from inside of the fuel tank which I assumed to be the fuel pump. This is the 2nd time this whining has caught my attention. It normally does not do this once the system is charged Other than that nothing out of the odinary. Could I have picked up some crap in the bottom of the tank? It has 3/4 of a tank of gas in it now. And NO I have not gotten a fuel procesor yet.. :( Thanks

I'm guessing it ran rough all the way to work?
Maybe you did run over some rumble strips. ;)

My guess is crappy fuel.
Try some Seafoam in the gas. |

Some of the fuel pumps develop a whine to them that can always be heard, most don't. I can only hear mine when I first turn the key on for a few seconds.

Could be bad gas
could be lugging as you gunned it in wrong gear? could be moisture in the tank what color is the exhaust? do you smell anything different do you smell something burning could be a u joint going bad could be carbon build up could be dirty air filter bevel gear, rear end, dead cat you went over :) could be I have no idea and just wanted to post something. I would add some sea foam, beer (beer for you after long day at work) then wind that baby up the next morning on the way to work and see if it clears up. |
