My brother asked to try one of his friends in '63-'64 who's dad had just bought it for his
summer transportation. He didn't think to tell my brother how the thing operated, and my
'super intelligent' brother didn't ask how to operate it. As simple as they are, my brother got
on it, turned the throttle, went wobbly flying out of the gas station, across the street through
traffic, over a curb and through a wooden fence. He was finally separated from the mighty
beast by a close line. He had minor scrapes and bruises. Dad paid for a new section of fence
and a new scooter. As sore as my brother was from the event in public, as well as the event
inside the house. He still went and repaired the lawn and the close line. Under duress, but
he still went.
That's probably why I ask so many questions.

100 mpg....we will all be riding one of these if gas makes it to $7 a gallon..... Although I wonder how they handle passing a semi.

They're great if the semi is parked. These things top out at maybe 40-45 MPH. They have a 3-speed transmission with no clutch.

They don't go fast enough to wrinkle a shirt.
