is this belt noise?

While coasting (maybe during acceleration, engine is possibly drowning it out) i hear a roar/whine that rises then falls in sound level. If it is belt noise will spraying water on it make the noise change temporarily to assure me it is the belt? 4500miles, 2011 nomad, tire 80% worn, went on 70 mile 2 up ride and noise started after i left home. Thx for u'r input......by the way belt running position on pully is same as always.

It could also be tire noise, some tires start to growl like a bad bearing after they are worn for a bit.

Think it would start all of a sudden if it were a tire? Got any idea what kinda noise the belt would make, roar, squeal (like a fan belt)?

Belt? Not sure what belt you would be referring to

I agree with Ring, I am thinking that it is tires. Does the sound get louder when you lean? My tires started making the noise around 6500 miles. The "stones" are known for this.
