The blue jewel in a red lens is illegal in NY State.

Every thing is illegal in NY TC.....
I don't run one of the blue jewels either, but like you I don't do much more work than I have to. I really like triangles of light though, which I believe helps keep me safer. The idea I have goes like this: From a distance another driver will see either a solid red light, which gaining on me will become 2 lights then gaining more will become 3, and so tell my approximate distance. I have small white passing lamps aimed low on the front for the same effect.
