Solved my reversion problem

I had reversion problems (jake brake sound between shifts or upon decel) with my 07 nomad with V&H touring duals. Solved the problem by mounting lollipops near the tail end of the baffles.

Ah, okay...now that makes sense.

Hmmm. Doesn't make sense to me as reversion is when the intake valve opens prior to the exhaust valve closing (which they all do on a reasonably high performance engine - see here: http://www.circletrack.com/enginetec...ake_reversion/) and the exhaust gases blow the intake gases back into the intake runner. Makes more sense if he is talking about the engine going lean because of less back pressure and is popping on decel...and then the lollipop would work by causing a bit more back pressure and a less lean mixture and no more 'jake brake' sound.

I'd like some more info on how the lollipop is mounted - I think that may be the answer to the lack of adequate vacumn to run my cruise control (and my popping on decel with the V&H Duals). Did you just mount it to the baffle?

Thanks!

My 1500 motor always made that jake brake sound when letting off the throttle. Now that I have the 1600 motor installed with the same exhaust, that noise is gone, but it pops on decel now, even though its marbled, and no apparent leaks.

Timay, I'm not sure about all the technical jargon "lol" I just know it's working.
I'll post a pic ASAP.

pics of lollipop install

lollipops installed in V&H Touring duals baffles.
Then wrapped with one layer of exhaust wrap then wrapped with lightweight metal flashing.
