Did not use a relay and have had no problems. I don't think it draws much more, if any, than the stock horn. Make sure you get the low note horn unless you want a higher pitch horn.

I forget exactly what I had to do. Maybe it was cutting back a bit on the wire cover to make the plugs reach the contacts on the horn, but it was no big deal. The 2 plugs didn't go right on the contacts of the horn without a little help.

This was taken when the horn was first installed a while ago. I now have it hanging straight down and the open horn part is facing to the side. I believe I removed the original horn bracket. Haven't had any problems and it has never come loose. I guess if you wanted to have both the high and low pitch horns you could mount it this way. But you probably would need the relay. I forget the exact numbers, but the amp draw was within an acceptable range for not needing the relay.

OKAY! I GOT HER INSTALLED!!!!!!
WORTH IT! Loud YES. after doing some research i may have been better off running the SCREAMING BANSHEE just because it has the 1/2 second delay before it puts the fear of god in someone. Overall, i'd recommend this air horn. not totally what i expected but, still satisified. 4 out of 5 stars. Hopes this helps someone else in their decision. Ran the PIAA on my Honda so i can give PRO's and CON's on both. |
