High Temperature light Question

Did a lot of around town riding yesterday with temps in the mid 90s. Red lights & bad traffic. When I got home & stopped in the garage, the temp light came on, but the fan was not running. Checked the fluid level in the overflow, & it was low normal. Checked the fuse for the fan & it was good.
Any Ideas out there?

What year is the bike?

If it's a 2005-2008 1600, the information you need is on pages 16-72 and 16-73 in the Service Manual.

It could be the:

Fan Switch
Fan Motor

If the fan is coming on properly it could be the radiator thermostat.

How long has it been since the coolant has been changed?
