Mutazu trunk review
Can anyone give a review of these trunks. The DMY trunk has a flat top that will mount a chrome rack, the VIP looks very nice and has lights built into it. Can't find any reviews of these trunks and I'm hoping that someone here can shed some light.
Thanks, Idaho

I had the VIP before I found my Venture trunk. They are what you expect them to be for the price. Thin plastic, but they will allow you to carry/store items and keep them dry. The lid really rattles on them so I bought some auto trim and installed it on the edge of the bottom to create a tighter seal between the lid and the base of the trunk. I only had mine on for two years, so I can't speak to longevity. I was happy to replace it with a better trunk, but for the money they're not bad, not great, but not bad.

Thanks AG, that Venture trunk on your bike looks very nice. How does your passenger like the backrest?

Plenty comfortable for her. Although she says the VIP was fine too. She does like the armrest extensions that are on the Venture trunk. It also has an adjustable (3 position) backrest, but we've found that 1 fixed position is fine, so I disconnected the cable to it.
Here's some pics from when the VIP was on:

On another forum some guys were experiencing the bottoms getting stress cracks, from being a little thinner material, You should use a large surface on the mounting rack if you go with one of those trunks.

Mutazu trunk review
Hey ! I haven't owned one but have seen one on a sportster. It seemed pretty flimsy to me. Decided on the spot that I was going for the Venture trunk. I bought an old 84 trunk from a guy on eBay, for $300. It cost me more but was well worth the work I put into fab. my own rack and struts for the job.

Rickyboy, I was just talking on Saturday with Audioguru about wanting a windshield emblem for my venture trunk.
It looks good on a trunk. |

I've had mine for a while, they're OK for the money but I think I'm going to switch to a Harley or fiberglass knock-off of Harley. Though the wife likes it with the new wrap-around backrest
I would prefer something a little more stout. That being said if your on a budget like a lot of us these days it will get you by and they arnt bad looking. Just my opinion! |

Hi and thanks Dan,
I stole it off the orig. rear backrest that came off when I took on the trunk project. A little heat from a good heat gun and it came off so easy. Thanks again.

As an alternative to the Mutazu luggage, I found this place:
http://www.oldinc.com/oldystourpack.htm These don't look too bad, although you'd have to paint them to match your bike. The price seems decent, if it's a quality product. Also found this: Tour pack Anybody have any comments/experience with either of these?

CJ, I've seen them both listed on ebay. The 1st looks like decent quality and I believe Fiberglass. The second doesn't list what it's made of, but looks like plastic, probably comparable to the VIP trunk. I'd like to here from anyone who's had the 1st one as to quality.

I'm sure if we rattle enough cages, somebody here knows about them.
Have you checked out the trunks scootworks sells? Man, those look really nice.

Hey Dan,
I attached it with automotive adhesive tape. But make sure you know EXACTLY !! where you are putting it. Because once it touches the trunk or where ever you use this prod. it sticks like s*#t to a blanket. You won't move it. I had a bit of trouble when I put on my Nomad script, it isn't perfect. and that kills me every time I look at it. But I am getting over that gradually. Good luck ! Rickyboy
