Cobra FI2000R, OEM Dual Aircleaner Assemblies with new element, Vista Cruise

I have several items left that I had used on my 2007 Nomad. I have included pics at the bottom of the post. Please PM me with your inquiries.

1. Cobra FI2000R Adjustable plug and play Controller. This unit is still on sale on Cobra's website. When I purchased this Controller it was being sold nationwide and was listed as 50 state compatible. A member pointed out that Cobra now offers a California Only model called a FI2000r ARB. That is a sealed and non adjustable unit. The FI2000r I am selling is not the ARB version. What I am selling is the unit cobra now markets for the other 49 states, it is not sealed and requires adjustment. Cobra provides recommendations for base line settings of the three potentiometers used in the adjustment process. For the 05-08 1600 Nomad's the base line settings are 3-5-0. It is compatible with all 1600 FI models of the Vulcan and Nomad. I have been told that it was the unit for the 1500 FI model Nomads also but I do not know that for an absolute fact and so any 1500 owner should research before purchasing. $100 & buyer pays shipping (est. $3 in USA).

2. OEM Dual Air Cleaner Assembly. Includes Chrome Covers, Backing plates with all hardware and a new filter element. $50 and buyer pays shipping (est. $12 in USA).

3. SOLD SOLD SOLD Vista Cruise Throttle Control. Manual cruise control designed for all 1500/1600 Vulcan Classic and Nomad 1999-2008 models with OEM hand Grips. $25 and buyer pays shipping (est. $3 in USA)

$. OEM horn with Chrome cover. $15 and buyer pays shipping (est. $3 in USA).

1500 and 1600 look like different part numbers.

dg: that is the way it looked to me but I have a couple 1500 owners telling me otherwise. They say that what cobra's web site says today is that there were no FI 1500 Nomads and that the kit for all the 1500s is a re-jetting kit cause they are all carb'd, but we all know that there are FI 1500's so if somebody with a FI1500 is interested then this might be a unit they can use but they need to research it before they buy.

Adjustment Potentiometers

A couple people had questions about the adjustment of this FI controller. This is the "50 state compatible FI2000r" model not a "Calif Only FI2000r-ARB" model. It is fully user adjustable. I opened the access cover to the three user adjustable potentiometers and took a pic just so you could see I wasn't pulling your leg. Cobra provides a "recommended setting" for each potentiometer. You start there and adjust (either manually or on a dyno with a tail pipe sniffer) to optimize the benefits on your specific bike. There are different recommend base settings depending on Classic vs Nomad applications. For example, the recommended base line for the 05-08 FI1600 Nomad is 3-5-0.

I want to preface the following with; I am not a lawyer or a EPA official so this is just my opinion. Calif and the rest of the country does not normally make EPA or DOT standards changes retroactive. Example being that old cars don't have to comply with the new Fuel Mileage standards and Old helmets don't have to be thrown away, vendors just can't sell new helmets that don't meet current standards.

Our 05-08 Nomads were in compliance with all the standards in effect at the time of their production. Calif models having a evaporative control system that the other state models didn't have being the only difference that I am aware of. And this adjustable controller was in compliance with use in all 50 states standards at the time of its production and sale. So I believe that if you had a FI1600 from 08 or before and this device was on it you would be in compliance with the standards set for the motorcycles and the controllers produced at that time even in Calif.

Again, this is just my opinion and perhaps someone who is a lawyer or from Calif or both will know better than I.
