Black Widow Steel Cruiser Jack

Anyone have an use a Black Widow Steel Cruiser Jack. Its listed for $23.99. Looks like a cheep solution but with all things cheep you get what you pay for.

I contemplated buying the jack but went with the center stand. Very easy to use and stronger than it looks. You can set it for height. I use mine for oil changes , cleaning rims and brake work. They both get really great reviews.

This a similar version from Princess Auto here in Canada. That's basically all I use now. It's perfect for adjusting the Y lifts to the Nomad frame rails. Very strong and a great range of height adjustment. Unlike most hydraulic lifts, you can dial it right in so sliding front or rear axles in is nearly effortless.

I have a similar one, a Black Jack, that I bought on ebay several years ago and use it all of the time. It has an extra, larger slip on plate with an assortment of mounting pucks to accommodate different bikes. I believe I paid about $100US. The one by Handy costs at least double that.

I get a bit nervous about a product that is this inexpensive, wondering if it going to strip out while raising my bike, with the potential catastrophic results.

Most scissor jacks, including mine are not designed to lift the entire bike. I am guessing the one on sale is the same.

I use mine to lift front or back, not both. I use it with a Harbour freight wheel chock, I am able to bolt to floor anchors with tie downs. For most servicing, I am very confident it will hold just fine.

Here is the wheel chock I use. http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcy...ock-69026.html I drilled holes in my garage floor concrete and drove in threaded floor anchors. Did the same for tie-downs. For oil changes and a lot of other maintenance where you want the bike upright, I just ride it into the chock and it's secure. I have had no problems at getting the rear wheel high off the ground with the front tire secure in the wheel chock.

When not in use, I have button head bolts in the floor anchors to keep the holes from collecting debris.

This winter I am going to put a combo wheel chock and tie-down bar for the rear tire. Angle iron from an old bed frame is the base for that. Holes in the angle iron for the tie-downs and all removable when not needed.

I use one of these too,they can lift a Nomad easily,i have to run the front wheel up on to a wedged piece of 4x2 to raise the bike enough to get it under though.

I use the same lift on top of my table lift to stabilize my vaquero works like a center stand, then clamp the front tire and go

Where is this jack listed at this price? Black widows web sales show the flip over handle type called 'Black Widow Steel Cruiser Jack' at that price.

Hey everyone I think there has been some confusion. The Black Widow I was looking at was not the scissor jack that everyone is talking about. It was a "flip over handle jack".
