New Tires

Suggestions on brand and size of new tires for my 2014 Nomad. This is my first set and there seems to be a very limited number of tires available in the factory size. Would appreciate anyone's input into brands and sizes especially the rear tire. Thanks

Commander II Michelins are winning hands down. You will want to get for the rear, the 180/65 16 and for the front, the 130/90 16.

You make a good point. When it was time to replace the tires on my Suzuki C109, I went with Metzlers because everyone was raving about them. After about 3000-4000 miles, the front is "howling" so bad it drives me nuts. Going back to the factory Bridgestones next change.

They're fine as long as you don't mind changing them every 5-8,000 miles. It's even shorter for the Voyager.

I think people like them for the most part but obviously the Commander II's have a lot of fans. I think that's what I'll get this summer.

The stock Bridgestone Exedras are cheap junk tires. Even the Exedra "MAX" tires wear quickly. Michelins, especially Commander II tires are the proven superior choices. Touring tires are biased tires designed to last and handle heavy loads. That is what you want on your touring bike.

Excedra Max

Well it's all certainly preference but I am running the Excedra Max on my 2013 1700 Voyager and truly enjoy the ride and handling. The wear far exceeds the original Bridgestones. I guess only time will tell but for the price I'm very happy with the Excedra Max's

I'm using the new Shinko HD's, and so far am very impressed. For $190 total, they are a super value. Great ride, quiet, stick to the road like glue, and after 1500 miles, still look like the day I put them on. Zero wear at all. Just my .02
