Mine is for certain not an exhaust issue, stock OEM pipes off the motor. We checked it with a audio scope, absolutely coming from within the head. Kawi techs at corp agree with our findings, especially that after fresh oil the issue was drastically reduced in frequency. Any way I am going with the head rebuild. remember I have had this tick happen for an hour or more also.

Yep when it is at it's worst that's exactly what it sounds like. No mistaking it for an exhaust leak eh?? Some times it's not that bad and that's when it goes away within a few minutes. When it sounds like that mine generally will not go away for a really long time.
